EAB’s Directors, Pastor John Medcraft and his Brazilian-born wife Elizabeth, arrived in Brazil in 1972. Since then, they have worked tirelessly to increase Evangelical Action’s influence and effectiveness by developing existing projects, initiating new ones and by striving to gain the respect of communities and councils. They took over the directorship of EAB in 1987. Their commitment to the fight against social injustice in Paraíba was formally recognised in 1994 when John was made an honourary citizen of Patos, and in 2003 was made an honourary citizen of the state of Paraíba.
